Multiple items in the navigation menu are highlighted at the same time?
As shown in the screenshot above, if your navigation menu contains multiple anchors that exist in different locations on the same page, then you will see that these anchors are highlighted in the navigation menu at the same time. This usually happens when you create a one page website.
Highlighting multiple items in a navigation menu at the same time can confuse viewers and keep them from finding where they are on the page. It’s also visually weird.
To resolve this issue, please navigate to the WordPress Customizer > General > Anchors in the Nav Menu > And enable “Solve multiple highlighting in the nav menu“. (Please note this is a new feature added in v1.4.)
After that, only when the page is scrolled to the position of the corresponding anchor, the corresponding navigation menu item will be highlighted.
