(More details can be find\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/localise.biz\/wordpress\/plugin\/manual\/msginit#locations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.)<\/p><ul><li><strong>Custom<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; This is Loco&#8217;s protected folder under &#8220;wp-content\/languages\/loco\/&#8221; which is safe from automatic updates. If this folder doesn&#8217;t exist you may need to create it and ensure it has the correct permissions.<br \/><div class=\"info-box-2\">Starting with WordPress v6.7, if you select &#8220;Custom&#8221;, translations on your site will fall back to English, so please select &#8220;<strong>System<\/strong>&#8220;. If you previously selected &#8220;Custom&#8221;, follow <a href=\"https:\/\/loftocean.com\/doc\/patiotime\/ptkb\/translating-theme-with-loco-translate\/#what-if-i-choose-the-incorrect-save-location-for-the-translations\">the steps here<\/a> to change the location of your translation files.<\/div><\/li><li><strong>System<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; <span class=\"highlighted\">Recommended.<\/span><\/li><li><strong>Author<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Please do not select this option. If you select this option, your translation file will be saved in the theme folder. The basics of the editor should be fairly intuitive. Select the English string at the top and enter your translation in the pane at the bottom.
